Koen Hindriks (Interactive Intelligence) boosts the research into robots, with help from IBM. He has recently won an IBM award.

Koen: "The funds will be used to customize robots for health care for children and education. For example the robot tutor, the PAL project for children with diabetes, or our latest project where we develop a robot friend for children who need to stay in hospital for a longer period of time. IBM is mainly interested in using IBM watson for NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). Our robots become more and more prepared to engage in small talk and dialogues. In the December issue of Quadraad (magazine of EEMCS, ed.) I will tell more about that in an interview."
