Professor of Biorobotics Martijn Wisse is the new Scientific Director of TU Delft Robotics Institute. During the yearly associates day of the Institute on 24 January, Wisse was officially appointed. He succeeds Robert Babuska, who has led the institute for the past five years.

Wisse thanked Babuska for the way he has led the institute. Babuska will remain attached to the institute as Associate Director Research, the role Wisse previously filled.

During the associates day, there were presentations on the three research themes and other research issues. The new master’s degree on AI and Robotics was introduced and there were presentations on valorisation. Arthur de Crook and his team gave the audience an update on RoboValley, the work of the Robot Master Team and the International Robotics Week.

Furthermore, the new website of the Institute was officially launched and the robots made by students of the Minor Robotics were demonstrated.
