NASA’s RASC-AL Challenge is an engineering design competition where student teams develop new concepts that leverage innovation to improve NASA’s ability to operate in space and on distant bodies. This year’s themes range from preparing for the next steps of NASA’s return to the Moon, to innovating solutions for returning from Mars, to designing architectures to visit Venus and Ceres.
Mission:
Develop a mission concept that supports a crew of four astronauts and identifies planetary science payloads on a mission to Ceres, with two astronauts landing on the dwarf planet in the 2040s.
The mission will be co-developed by TU Delft and Morehead State University students.
Duration:
December 2020 through to June 2021
