Minor Robotics 2016 - 2017

Team 9: Kroboot

Twitter Pitch
The Kroboot is the first robot capable of removing duckweed preventively and autonomously.

Description
The Kroboot removes duckweed from canals preventively. It does so by sucking in a mixture of duckweed and water, after which the duckweed is filtered from the water. The duckweed is then left in a duckweed container which can be easily removed from the boat. The water is pumped out through the back. The Kroboot itself is an autonomous boat, it has ultrasonic sensors and a camera used to measure the distance to the side of the canals and trace the duckweed. The Kroboot is propelled by a rotating thruster which is also the steering mechanism. On board are electronics to control all subsystems.
