The Science Centre is multipurpose building of the TU Delft. It is mainly used for congresses, workshops and to exhibit projects for a wide range of people. This exhibition is ever growing as they are always looking to add something new. This is why when looking for a new way to greet and receive people at their establishment.

Robots are scary. It is our goal to get rid of this preconception and deliver a robot that will be loved by all kinds of people. Since we are working in a public environment it is of great importance to have a good looking robot that shows what the future may look like.

IONA is a root that will provide information to visitors of the Science Centre Delft. It will help visitors with a number of problems they might encounter as well as being an entertaining showpiece for the museum. IONA will be place in the entrance hall of the building where it will have control over the whole room, including the lights and a specially placed beamer.

IONA is able to perform a couple of tasks including helping people find their way through the building, inform visitor about the weather and current traffic. It will also take orders from guests which can be processed by the bartender robot.

Interaction can be done via large buttons and an easy to use interface, utilizing LEDs displays, dimmable lights and a synthesized voice. All this makes for a futuristic experience that is sure impress both children and their parents.

To make sure anyone can easily interact with anyone, IONA will be able to move up and down to interact with small children. It will also look left and right to give a more friendly appearance and improve the user interaction. Spotlights can be used to guide people and a map projected on the wall will give even more precise information about the building.
